What is Swissmedmusica?
Since 1997, Swissmedmusica has been promoting health and prevention in the music profession. To this end, the association has set up a high-level interdisciplinary network of experts.
The network includes international professional associations, Swiss music associations, music schools, conservatories and orchestras. In collaboration with them, Swissmedmusica works to prevent the damage caused by poor posture, stress and overwork throughout a person's life and professional career.
Swissmedmusica has a national advisory service for people seeking support. This service is free of charge and independent of the sector's institutions. It handles inquiries in the strictest confidence, does not pass on any data, and can also be contacted anonymously. Swissmedmusica is also a competence center for public relations and information exchange in the field of music medicine. This includes an annual network meeting, a directory of prevention and therapy offers, and activities on social networking platforms.
Among other things, members receive regular information on SMM events, an exclusive newsletter with industry news and bibliographical references, access to the full membership list, a discount on SMM symposium documentation (more information can be found in the "Literature" section of the Swissmemdmusica website), a discount on the magazine of the German Society for Music Physiology, a platform for proposing their own courses and discounted admission to the society's symposia.
