The Château de Gorgier in the canton of Neuchâtel, a cultural asset of national importance, is not normally open to the public. Thanks to the brand-new Gorgier Music Festival, the public will be able to visit this medieval building for the first time. The initiator of the festival is violinist Hans Liviabella.

The five concerts start at 7 pm. They kick off on May 28 with a program entitled «Dedicated to Women», featuring works by post-Victorian English women composers for violin, piano, cello and voice. On May 29, the château's first-floor chapel will host baroque music by Antonio Vivaldi. On May 30, the «C'est juste le temps qui passe» evening will combine music and the visual arts. Two further concerts will follow on May 31 and June 1.

Most concerts will take place in the château's main hall, which, according to the organizers, lends itself particularly well to chamber music. An aperitif dinner will be served at the end of each concert evening.
