To share this love for an art that is more plural than ever, the two singers behind the project, Leana Durney and Davide Autieri, let their voices venture into moving terrain. They are aided in this by a pianist, Guy-Fran\u00e7ois Leuenberger, not an accompanist but a character in his own right. Finally, Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Mairy, a stage director with a background in theater, ensures the coherence and rhythm of the whole.<\/p>\n

This small structure offers a new take on classical vocal music through humor. But purists need not worry: while opera may go through almost every state, it still comes out of this show in top form. The guiding principle behind the creation of this show was not to laugh at the art of opera, but to laugh with it, with its codes (the plot, here as elsewhere, is that of a love story set against a red velvet backdrop), its great arias and its beautiful arias.<\/p>\n

L'Op\u00e9ra dans tous ses \u00e9tats will be in Cossonay, at the Th\u00e9\u00e2tre du Pr\u00e9-aux-Moines on January 20 at 5pm, in Neuch\u00e2tel at the Th\u00e9\u00e2tre du Passage from February 12 to 17, in Biel at the Th\u00e9\u00e2tre Palace on March 22, before leaving for Avignon.<\/p>\n
