Every summer, the Avenches Arena plays host to an opera, in this case \"Nabucco\" in 2013.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Performances will take place on July 4, 5, 6, 8, 11 and 12, 2014 at 9pm. Ticket sales open on December 1 with a special Christmas offer: a 10% discount on all ticket purchases until the end of the year.<\/p>\n

Two singers have been chosen to interpret the cult character of the cigar girl: mezzo-soprano B\u00e9atrice Uria Monzon, considered one of the greatest Carmens, and Zurich soprano No\u00ebmi Nadelmann, who will be playing the famous gypsy for the first time in her career.<\/p>\n

Don Jos\u00e9 will be played by young Spanish tenor Jorge de Leon, alternating with Chilean Giancarlo Monsalve. French conductor Alain Guingal will lead the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This year, the Avenches Op\u00e9ra Board of Trustees has appointed Michel Francey as General Manager. He is particularly familiar with the world of show business, having worked on the opening of the Geneva Arena and the Montreux Jazz Festival as a press attach\u00e9. He has also worked as a promotion manager at Universal Music and Sony Music.<\/p>\n

The Avenches Opera Festival is celebrating.
