Children from elementary school in and around Fribourg will be introduced to organ music by the show <em>The carnival of animals<\/em> with the participation of a cartoonist and a storyteller. This project is the winner of the ECHO Introducing Children to Organ Music international competition.<\/p>\n<p><em>In the night,<\/em> the ballad for organ, puppets and machines will illuminate another little-known facet of organ music: its ability to bring a rich and profound sonic experience to the performance, in this case of puppets.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Fribourg organ night<br \/> <\/strong>The summit of the 2016 edition will be <em>The Fribourg organ night<\/em>. This nocturnal event begins with a concert of 17th century Fribourg music, and continues with a puppet show. <em>In the night<\/em> ending with a second concert from Fribourg, featuring improvisations on themes by Abb\u00e9 Bovet with Jean-Louis Feiertag on organ, and works by Fribourg-born Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Michel. Michel will lead his brass ensemble, accompanied by young organist Olga Zhukova.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eight concerts <br \/> <\/strong>Among the eight concerts on offer during the festival is the Bach en miroir concert, offering a unique experience. Maurizio Croci will perform pieces by Bach for harpsichord and organ. The compositions offered to the public are mirrors of each other: following similar inspirations, Bach explores the languages and technical possibilities of both instruments, often evoking the language of the other on one instrument. This concert will serve as a preview for Maurizio Croci's latest CD. <br \/> To ensure the perfect marriage between a composition and the most appropriate instrument, the festival will travel outside the canton for two concerts, in Berne and Payerne.<br \/> Fribourg has been a member of ECHO (European Cities of Historical Organs) since 2008.
