Photo: Taco van der Werf<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<div class='text-section'>\n<p>To open the concert, the Quatuor Terpsycordes will join forces with bandoneonist William Sabatier for tunes by Piazzola, Edith Piaff and Debussy. For the closing concert, the Ensemble Fratres, with the complicity of Hanspeter Oggier on panpipes, has concocted a European escapade with works ranging from Vivaldi to Mozart, with a touch of Strauss and Purcell.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Young shoots <br \/> <\/strong>Le Bois qui Chante has always been keen to give the next generation a chance, offering free concerts to young people up to the age of 16 on the courtyard side, and a privileged podium on the garden side for those who make the courageous gamble of a musical career. This year, this new generation can be discovered throughout the week: Duo Rusalka, Luc Baghdassarian and the Orchestre des Coll\u00e8ges et Gymnases Lausannois, the 125th anniversary show of the SSPM, and Stella Chen, in collaboration with the Tibor Varga Competition.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The must-haves<br \/> <\/strong>The traditional Bois qui Chante cinema evening will be held at Cin\u00e9ma Eden with the screening of the film <em>The violin teacher<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>This year's orchestral workshop will once again bring together some thirty musicians, most of them non-professionals, during the first weekend of the Festival. For the first time, it will be under the baton of Luc Baghdassarian. The workshop is open to all instrument families, and will present the results of intensive work at a concert in the Grande Salle, featuring a resolutely symphonic repertoire.<\/p>\n<p>Unmissable for 18 years, the Bois qui Chante will once again be taking its audience on a forest walk to discover the Arses forest. The much-anticipated music and gastronomy evening will be held on October 20 at Rossini\u00e8re's Grande Salle, and will feature a young, eclectic and inventive ensemble: Les Patchworks. As for the taste buds, Urs Weidmann's savoir-faire will delight the public.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The shows <br \/> <\/strong>Le Bois qui Chante will be hosting the Com\u00e9die Musicale Improvis\u00e9e brunch, held for the first time in the main hall at l'Etivaz, for a show sung, played and danced as a duo, with a pianist creating all the melodies live, following the theme imposed by the audience!<\/p>\n<p>The evening of Thursday, October 18 will once again be held in the warm setting of the Chalet restaurant, with a show combining yodelling, opera and other lyobas...
