In addition to prizes totalling CHF 25,000, the concept also offers winning ensembles a three-year concert placement program. Thanks to this targeted support, the winning ensembles of the first 2023 competition have performed in over 80 concerts throughout Switzerland. The competition is organized by the F\u00f6rderkreis Kammermusik Schweiz (FKMS) in collaboration with the Paul Juon Society, and takes place at the Kunsthalle Appenzell.<\/p>\n

\u00abAs a teacher with Zeitgeist-Ensemble, I can't thank you enough for this wonderful initiative and support for young ensembles in Switzerland! What a jewel this Juon competition is!\u00bb<\/em> With these words, Anton Kernjak expresses his gratitude for the commitment of the Paul Juon Chamber Music Competition. Artistic Director Martin Lucas Staub is delighted. The fact that, from the first edition in 2023, the winning ensembles will be able to benefit from support for over 80 concerts throughout Switzerland testifies to the sustainability of the concept, which has been enthusiastically received by concert organizers and their audiences alike.<\/p>\n

The objectives<\/h3>\n

The \u00abPaul Juon Chamber Music Competition\u00bb pursues a number of objectives: the long-term promotion of young Swiss chamber music ensembles, the financial support of ensembles and concert organizers through a three-year concert placement scheme, and the dissemination of Paul Juon's magnificent chamber music.<\/p>\n

The second edition of the competition, in autumn 2026, will therefore be based on this tried-and-tested concept: ensembles ranging from trio to sextet are eligible if, in addition to two works of their own choice, they perform a work by Swiss composer Paul Juon. The jury is looking above all for chamber music ensembles demonstrating great creative ability and a strong stage presence. The prizewinners' concert will take place on November 22, 2026 at 5 p.m. at the Kunsthalle Appenzell.<\/p>\n
