Spesso preferita al clavicembalo per il suo suono pastoso e la sua risonanza profonda, la tiorba \u00e8 un grande liuto da accompagnamento a cui sono state aggiunte molte lunghe corde di basso: fa la sua comparsa con la nascita dell'opera lirica, e segna la nascita di uno stile declamatorio rivolto all'espressione esacerbata di sentimenti e stati d'animo.<\/p>\n<p>Il primo concerto del festival sar\u00e0 incentrato sulla musica italiana dell'epoca di Monteverdi, con l'Ensemble La Gioannina (Francia) venerd\u00ec 29 agosto. La cantante Fran\u00e7oise Masset sar\u00e0 accompagnata da una grande tiorba, spesso chiamata chitarrone nell'Italia dell'epoca. Il programma degli ultimi due concerti prevede musiche del primo Barocco, ma anche del tardo Rinascimento: musica inglese, a partire dalle emblematiche melodie di Henry Lawes, il poeta-musicista, eseguite dal tenore Jeffrey Thompson e dall'Ensemble La R\u00eaveuse (Francia) sabato 30 agosto; per chiudere questa edizione 2014, la grande famiglia delle viole, completa di basso, tenore, taille, dessous du dessus e dessus, e anche di qualche cugino, liuto, cistre, bandora, ottavino... presenter\u00e0 il repertorio intimo di Anthony Holborne eseguito dall'Ensemble L'Ach\u00e9ron (Lussemburgo) domenica 31 agosto nella chiesa di Gruy\u00e8res, un concerto trasmesso in diretta da Espace 2.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Laboratorio di liuteria per la tiorba veneziana<br \/> <\/strong>Il tradizionale laboratorio di liuteria - anima del festival - vedr\u00e0 la creazione di una tiorba, niente meno che una replica di un grande modello veneziano del 1650, sotto la guida del liutaio inglese David van Edwards. Una bella sfida per gli apprendisti, come sempre sotto gli occhi del pubblico.<\/p>\n<p>Infine, in omaggio all'Atelier 2013, una mostra retrospettiva sulla lira da braccio costruita l'anno scorso allo
