Frank Zappa \u00e8 stato un'icona del rock, anche se i suoi legami musicali pi\u00f9 profondi sono pi\u00f9 complessi; al di l\u00e0 della sua feroce critica sociale e della sua ostinata difesa della libert\u00e0 di espressione, l'arte di Zappa deve molto ai compositori che amava: Igor Stravinsky, Edgar Var\u00e8se e Anton Webern.<\/p>\n<p>John Zorn, la cui carriera assomiglia a un collage surrealista, giustappone posizioni estetiche a priori incompatibili: jazz, death metal, hardcore punk, klezmer e musica contemporanea. Il dissidente politico Conlon Nancarrow - era comunista - fu espulso dagli Stati Uniti, e fu per forza di cose che compose esclusivamente per pianoforte, con brio. La serata sar\u00e0 anche l'occasione per conoscere la compositrice australiana Liza Lim, alla quale Contrechamps ha commissionato un nuovo lavoro per violino solo ed ensemble.<\/p>\n<p>Questo primo concerto della stagione si terr\u00e0 il 29 settembre nella nuova sala concerti Alhambra di Ginevra. Il solista sar\u00e0 il brillante violinista David Grimal. La serata sar\u00e0 preceduta da una conferenza di Brice Pauset dal titolo \"Musica popolare e musica contemporanea: breve storia di un lungo malinteso\".<\/p>\n<p><strong>Una stagione tettonica<br \/> <\/strong>La stagione 2015-2016 \u00e8 intitolata \"Plate Tectonics\". I movimenti delle placche tettoniche sono all'origine dei paesaggi pi\u00f9 belli, ma anche di intense perturbazioni. Facendo eco al modello geologico, Contrechamps presenter\u00e0 concerti dai contorni ben definiti, mentre altri riuniranno opere e posizioni estetiche antagoniste ma dominate da un'idea comune. Il 18 marzo 2016, la stagione sar\u00e0 segnata da uno spettacolare concerto al B\u00e2timent des Forces Motrices, in collaborazione con l'HEM e il Festival Archipel, con il monumentale
