Tra le sue numerose attivit\u00e0 (cinquanta corsi che spaziano dalle percussioni dell'India meridionale alle cornamuse galiziane e alla danza balinese, corsi introduttivi nelle scuole, sostegno ai musicisti migranti e organizzazione di concerti e festival) c'\u00e8 la pubblicazione annuale dei Cahiers d'ethnomusicologie. Ogni volume comprende un importante dossier che costituisce circa tre quarti dell'opera, un'intervista e recensioni dettagliate di libri, principalmente in francese e inglese, CD e tesi di dottorato.<\/p>\n<p>Negli ultimi anni sono stati affrontati i seguenti temi: <em>Gesto musicale, forme musicali, identit\u00e0 musicali, performance, emozioni, questioni etiche, vita dell'artista.<\/em>mentre il numero di quest'anno sar\u00e0 intitolato <em>note umoristiche<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Ad esempio, il dossier dedicato a <em>memoria, tracce, storia<\/em>pubblicato nel 2009 nel 22\u00e8me cahier, \u00e8 composto da un'introduzione seguita da dodici articoli, che costituiscono gli atti di un colloquio internazionale tenutosi all'Universit\u00e0 di Nizza Sophia-Antipolis nel 2008. Questa incursione nelle funzioni storiche della memoria musicale e dell'oralit\u00e0 affronta, ad esempio, la questione della trasmissione e il rapporto tra scrittura e oralit\u00e0, molto pi\u00f9 complesso di quanto si pensi. La salvaguardia materiale della tradizione orale attraverso il disco non implica forse anche la creazione di una sorta di ortodossia fissa? Da alcuni decenni la memoria \u00e8 stata rivalutata come fonte storica complementare alla parola scritta e all'archeologia. Di conseguenza, miti, epopee, storie e atti rituali legati alla musica stanno acquisendo un ulteriore significato scientifico. Uno dei temi ricorrenti del libro \u00e8 la perdita di memoria, sia individuale che collettiva, e le risposte ad essa.
