Qui, Jacques F\u00e9vrier lavora sul Concerto per la mano sinistra di Ravel con il compositore. <a href=\"https:\/\/pad.philharmoniedeparis.fr\/0764555-concerto-pour-la-main-gauche-de-maurice-ravel.aspx#\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">@ Gallica-BnF<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<div class=\"text-section\">\n<p>Sebbene le prime opere per pianoforte confinassero il pi\u00f9 delle volte la mano sinistra a un semplice ruolo di accompagnamento, l'uso sistematico del pollice e l'invenzione del pedale \"forte\" ne resero possibile la graduale emancipazione nel corso del XIX secolo, arricchendone la tavolozza espressiva, grazie soprattutto a Chopin e soprattutto a Liszt. Una volta raggiunta la completa indipendenza, le composizioni pianistiche del secolo successivo tendono a differenziare i ruoli delle due mani. Allo stesso tempo, si svilupp\u00f2 un repertorio per la sola mano sinistra, prima sotto forma di etudes, poi di pezzi virtuosistici, prima che l'ammirazione per i mezzi limitati utilizzati da Bach per raggiungere la pienezza nelle sue opere per violino solo o violoncello spingesse Brahms a trascrivere per la mano sinistra la ciaccona della seconda partita per violino del cantore di Lipsia. Intorno al 1900, Godowsky si fece paladino della mano sinistra, condensando e comprimendo la maggior parte degli studi di Chopin per essa, sostenendo che la disposizione delle sue dita forti offre maggiori possibilit\u00e0 di far emergere la melodia rispetto alla dexter, mentre la tessitura in cui solitamente si muove permette di ottenere suoni pi\u00f9 morbidi, pieni e potenti. A parte alcuni casi fortuiti, fu soprattutto la Prima Guerra Mondiale a rendere diversi pianisti monobraccio, alcuni dei quali fecero di necessit\u00e0 virt\u00f9, o almeno cercarono di superare le avversit\u00e0. Il pi\u00f9 famoso di questi fu l'egocentrico e infatuato Wittgenstein, che fu incaricato di scrivere molti capolavori, tra cui il Concerto in re di Ravel, ma non ne cap\u00ec veramente l'importanza. Non ne capiva davvero l'importanza e spesso alterava in modo irrispettoso le partiture per apparire migliore. In questo libro, pubblicato da Premi\u00e8re Loges, si parla anche di altri grandi pianisti affetti da lesioni o distonie focali, come Schumann, Fleisher e Graffman.
