Copertina del libro<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<div class=\"text-section\">\n<p>Dopo un bell'album in duo in occasione del suo 40\u00b0 compleanno e un recentissimo CD intitolato <em>Primo Noel<\/em> pieno di melodie da mettere sotto l'albero di Natale, l'iperattivo trombettista, compositore e insegnante Ibrahim Maalouf ha pubblicato una riflessione sull'improvvisazione come arte di vivere. Diviso in quattro capitoli sulle virt\u00f9 dell'improvvisazione, che hanno permesso all'autore di liberarsi, trasmettere la sua musica, curarsi e vivere meglio con gli altri, il libro \u00e8 in gran parte un'autobiografia. Nato in una famiglia libanese emigrata in Francia, Ibrahim ha imparato tutti i segreti dello strumento dal padre, Nassim Maalouf, trombettista di prim'ordine, ed \u00e8 stato lasciato libero di improvvisare al pianoforte dalla madre, che insegnava musica. Questa duplice iniziazione lo ha trasformato in un melodista di grande talento, che si avvale di un'ampia conoscenza dei repertori occidentali e orientali, e in un volubile improvvisatore.<\/p>\n<p>Sia che abbia seguito l'esempio dei suoi genitori per integrarsi nella societ\u00e0 francese, sia che abbia seguito se stesso nel corso di una carriera artistica iniziata molto presto, secondo Maalouf l'improvvisazione \u00e8 un modo per affrontare le difficolt\u00e0 della vita tanto quanto per dedicarsi alla creazione artistica. Riempie la paura del vuoto, fa ammettere gli errori, rende tolleranti e, soprattutto, non si limita alle jam session. Questa \u00e8 forse la parte pi\u00f9 interessante del libro: per l'autore, improvvisare significa soprattutto rompere i codici musicali, mescolare gli stili, sperimentare, nel bene e nel male. E tanto peggio se, in un delizioso aneddoto che racconta una lunga discussione, il piccolo Ibrahim non finir\u00e0 per essere acclamato dal grande Wynton Marsalis come un vero jazzista. Perch\u00e9 sul palco che hanno condiviso subito dopo questo difficile dialogo, ha improvvisato un regalo per Wynton sotto forma di... una tromba a quattro pistoni, uno strumento inventato da suo
