Foto : Emmanuelle Goffat \/ Ren\u00e9 Macherel<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Per il suo secondo CD, Constantin Macherel si rivolge al XX secolo con tre brani, ognuno dei quali colloca il violoncello in un ambiente specifico. La Sonata per violino e violoncello di Ravel ha conservato tutta la sua freschezza dopo cento anni e stupisce per la sua inventiva, i suoi colori e il suo costante contrappunto. Nella versione di Constantin Macherel, \u00e8 Anna Orlik ad essere protagonista di un dialogo affascinante e pieno di energia. La registrazione sonora \u00e8 diretta, gli archi sono vicini, il suono \u00e8 solido, palpabile e puro.<\/p>\n<p>La musica di Schnittke viene generalmente descritta come polistilistica; in realt\u00e0 si tratta piuttosto di una libert\u00e0 assoluta nella scelta dei mezzi e della scrittura, dettata unicamente dall'espressivit\u00e0 del racconto, nello spirito di Shostakovich portato all'estremo. La sua Sonata n. 1 inizia con una sarabanda del violoncello che si trasforma in disperazione, inconsolabile anche per tutta la saggezza del pianoforte; prosegue con un inseguimento del violoncello da parte di un pianoforte impietoso in un affannoso inseguimento e termina con il lutto e la perdita definitiva della speranza. Frederic Bager \u00e8 il partner ideale per questo dramma esistenziale per due attori.<\/p>\n<p>La collaborazione tra i Mozart Players di Londra e Constantin Macherel era stata fruttuosa per il suo primo album; la registrazione della Symphonie concertante di Prokofiev spinge il solista, l'orchestra e il suo direttore Jonathan Bloxham ai loro limiti. Va detto che il brano \u00e8 una sfida che combina non solo le possibilit\u00e0 ma anche le difficolt\u00e0 di una sinfonia, con ogni registro dell'orchestra importante e messo in evidenza, e quelle di un concerto che richiede al solista un'abilit\u00e0 inimmaginabile.
