Immagine: DR<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Una delle pubblicazioni pi\u00f9 recenti di questa attraente collana tascabile \u00e8 la prima biografia in francese di uno dei pi\u00f9 importanti rappresentanti del romanticismo musicale tedesco, Hans Huber di Solothurn. Formatosi con Reinecke a Lipsia, come molti altri, trascorse la maggior parte della sua carriera a Basilea. Sebbene i posteri ricordino soprattutto le sue otto sinfonie e alcune partiture di musica da camera, scritte sulla scia di Schumann, Brahms e Raff, egli acquist\u00f2 notoriet\u00e0 soprattutto grazie al Festspiel che commemor\u00f2 il 500\u00b0 anniversario della nascita del compositore nel 1892.<sup>e<\/sup> anniversario della riunione di Basilea e Kleinbasel, che gli valse il titolo di dottore in filosofia.\u00a0<em>honoris causa<\/em>\u00a0all'Universit\u00e0 di Basilea. Divenne una delle figure musicali di spicco in Svizzera e, insieme al collega Friedrich Hegar, fu uno dei pi\u00f9 attivi promotori dell'Associazione dei musicisti svizzeri, fondata nel 1900. Amatissimo interprete, per il quale Steinway aveva appositamente noleggiato dei convogli ferroviari durante una tourn\u00e9e americana in cui tenne quasi un centinaio di recital, Paderewski era profondamente preoccupato per il destino della sua patria e tenne molti discorsi e concerti per raccogliere fondi per i suoi compatrioti caduti nella Prima Guerra Mondiale. Una volta riconquistata l'indipendenza della Polonia, accett\u00f2 persino di presiedere il Consiglio dei Ministri nel 1919, un sacrificio che ripet\u00e9 nel 1940 quando il governo fu costretto a lasciare il Paese in seguito allo smembramento della Polonia. Invece di frequentare l'Ecole des Beaux-Arts, i suoi genitori lo mandarono all'Ecole des Arts Industriels, dove acquis\u00ec una solida conoscenza del disegno tecnico e ornamentale, che traspare nei suoi espressivi ritratti, acquerelli, decori e altre opere, molte delle quali sono riprodotte nelle pagine di questa monografia. Oltre alle sue doti di artista visivo, Th\u00e9venaz possedeva un senso del movimento. Scopr\u00ec le lezioni di ritmica di Jaques-Dalcroze al Conservatorio e ne divenne un fervente cultore, non solo illustrando con i suoi schizzi le pubblicazioni che presentavano il metodo Dalcroze, ma anche partecipando a una tourn\u00e9e dimostrativa in Germania nel 1908, insegnando a ballerini russi a San Pietroburgo nel 1911 e aprendo poi una scuola di ritmica a Parigi, disciplina che insegn\u00f2 anche all'Op\u00e9ra Garnier. Nel 1916 emigr\u00f2 negli Stati Uniti, dove continu\u00f2 la sua doppia carriera, interrotta bruscamente dal destino. Con precisione ed emozione, Jean Pierre Pastori fa rivivere il ricordo di questa personalit\u00e0 coinvolgente, ardente e libera, dalla brillantezza fulminante.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"
