The Tour Musical website is online
The new SSPM website, www.tour-musical.ch, was ready in time for presentation at the Annual General Meeting on March 29, 2025. The Tour Musical is now off to a flying start.
It's very interesting to hear and read from SSPM colleagues about the performances, student concerts, courses and cultural participation projects they're planning for the period from June 7 to 28, 2025, and to sense that some of these events are very close to their hearts.
Normally, members call us for advice on questions of employment law or music pedagogy, for help in filling in their profile on mein-musikunterricht.ch or rent-a-musician.chor simply to inform us of a change of address. But for now, it's all about their music and music pedagogy - in other words, what drives them on a daily basis and what they're passionate about. It reminds me a little of the days when the SSPM still offered professional training, and was not yet purely a professional association. Back then, it was the day-to-day artistic and pedagogical work of SSPM members that was the focus of attention, not all the technical and administrative stuff that surrounded it. Personally, I think it's great that the Tour Musical brings back some of that!
Apparently, SSPM members are still reluctant to make use of the sponsorship prospectus designed by the organizing committee and use it to seek cooperation partners for their events. But perhaps we'll do the Tour again in two or three years' time, and make the prospectus available at least a year before the start of the Tour, to allow sufficient time for the search for sponsors. In any case, the events registered so far are mostly taking place without cooperation partners. They can be divided into three groups:
Section events
The Vaud section, for example, has entered the "Palmarès", the concert of the best students in the level examinations, which will take place on June 17 in Villeneuve. On June 14, the Tour will travel to the Alte Stadthaus in Winterthur, where the Winterthur/Zürcher Oberland section will be staging no fewer than three student and teacher concerts. The SSPM Musizierstunde in Berne will take place on June 20, and the konzertant! in Berne with Eva Röntz, cello, and Reto Reichenbach, piano, on June 21. Finally, the Tour will take us to Schaffhausen, where the SSPM Music School concert will be given on June 28.
Solo and chamber music concerts by our members
In this category, members announce concerts or a combination of a course and a concert. Guitarist Hanspeter Krüsi, for example, will set a special accent with his color concert on June 11 in Aathal-Seegräben, during which he will immerse the church in different colors, which he will then translate into music in a virtuoso and improvised manner. Marc-Henri Aubert will combine a master class and a recital in Vufflens on June 21, and Adalberto Riva will ask whether a piano can sing in his concert-conference on June 28 in Morges.
More important events
Violinist Marc Tairraz has presented his most spectacular project to date: on June 21, he will bring his amateur orchestra Amati and Amati junior, made up of his young violin students, and the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne to the Opéra de Lausanne stage for an interactive concert. During the concert, the audience will answer quiz questions about the program. On the same day, the GuitarSoundOrchestra, directed by Jürg Moser, will perform the "30 years of GSO" anniversary concert in Boswil. With some twenty guitarists aged between 13 and 26, the GSO is the largest guitar ensemble in Switzerland. On June 28, the Tour-Musical-ad-hoc choir, directed by Johannes Schröder, will perform a varied program at the Rosengarten in Berne. Those wishing to sing with the choir can register by May 24 at smpv.ch/bern/anmeldung-tour-musical-chor-bern.
This is just a small selection of the Tour program you'll find on tour-musical.ch, with more events added regularly. Of course, we'll gladly add your concert to the Tour menu if you announce it by May 15, 2025 at the latest under : smpv.ch/anmeldeformuar-formular-registration-modulo-di-registrazione-tour-de-suisse-musical
Answers to frequently asked questions
- If you would like to book a concert with students from your music school, please discuss this with the music school management. We then link the event to the music school's homepage and add it to the list of cooperation partners. The Muri-Gümligen music school, for example, enabled our colleague Elisabeth Ronja Haerdi to organize the open-air concert with two ensembles from the music school as part of the Tour.
- Yes, if you find a cooperation partner from the do' to fa' categories, you can withhold the entire sponsor contribution yourself.
- A photo of the artists, the venue or an instrument can be used as an event image.
- You will find Tour Musical instructions for members and declaration of consent for your students and their parents on smpv.ch under "Downloads".
