New management at the Swiss Music Council

Tom Wiederkehr has been the new General Secretary of the Swiss Music Council since August 1, and Stefan Müller-Altermatt is its new President.

The 1er August, changes have taken effect within the management of the Swiss Music Council (Conseil Suisse de la Musique - CSM). Tom Wiederkehr replaces Sandra Tinner as General Secretary. The new president, National Councillor Stefan Müller-Altermatt, already elected at the delegates' meeting on April 4, succeeds former president Rosmarie Quadranti.

A number of Committee members were also newly elected at the Delegates' Meeting. The committee now comprises :

Noah Martin, co-leader of the Music Economics/Law department

Marlon Mc Neill, co-manager of the Professional division

At its first meeting, the new committee unanimously elected Yvonne Glur as vice-president. It also decided to close the WSC office at the House of Music in Aarau. Thomas U. Wiederkehr graduated from the University of Basel in the early 2000s with a Master's degree in Marketing and Business Management. He then spent almost two decades working in communications and advertising. As part of this agency activity, he supported various symphony orchestras, music, theater and dance festivals, as well as professional associations in the cultural sector. In 2009/2010, he completed a degree in Technology and Growth Management at the University of St. Gallen. In parallel, he works as a freelance journalist and columnist.
